Australia
AI Ethics Principles

About

The Australian government issued eight AI Ethics Principles in November 2019.

They were subsequently updated in October 2024 following the publication of the Voluntary AI Safety Standard (VAISS).

The AI Ethics Principles underpin all national and state AI assurance initiatives, ensuring AI is safe, secure, reliable, and ethical.

The principles are voluntary, and are designed to encourage organisations to consider the consequences of using AI technologies.
